Student Senate

Office By-laws

The main duty of the Financial Secretary is to ensure effective handling of all financial matters of the Student Senate.

The Financial Secretary shall:

1. Follow the Constitution of the Student Senate, General Office By-laws and office-specific By-laws.

2. Advise the Student Senate and the Student Body of financial transactions.

3. Present a monthly balance sheet to the Student Senate and Student Body for review.

4. Maintain a file for each Student Senate account that will consist of all expenditures and deposits made during each month.

5. Track transactions involving Student Senate accounts.

6. Maintain copies of receipts, deposits and miscellaneous expenses.

7. Present to the Student Senate and Student Life Secretary any discrepancies in account balances.

8. Store records in a locked file cabinet in the Student Senate office.

9. Make recommendations on financial matters to the Student Senate.

10. Be knowledgeable about previous and current regulations regarding the "Club Incentive Award" program.

11. Submit to the Student Senate for consideration Tier Fund and Subsidy Requests. The primary guidelines will be as stated in the current "Club Incentive Award" packet.

12. Keep tier fund and subsidy request balances for each chartered club/organization.

This set of By-laws shall take effect upon affirmation by the Student Senate.
